WHAT SKATES SHOULD I BUY?

The type of skates you buy will depend on which style of skating you wish to pursue. Adopting different styles of skating may result in the purchasing of different types of skates - but hey! The more the merrier!

DO WATCH MY WHEELS HAVE SKATES TO HIRE FOR CLASS?

Yes, when you attend a WMW class you will be able to use a pair of rental skates provided for the duration of the class but, you're more than welcome to bring your own pair!

CAN I LEARN TO ROLLER SKATE BY MYSELF?

You definitely can learn to skate by yourself however, skating with others is encouraged as you can learn dance moves, correct and improve techniques and also speeds up the process.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTISE ROLLER SKATING?

You should practise skating at your own discretion. Take your time, as your body will need rest and you want to avoid over working yourself. Practising regularly for a few hours a day, at least twice a week can improve your skating drastically.

WHERE'S A GOOD PLACE TO SKATE OUTSIDE?

The best places to skate outdoors are where the surface is free of debris, obstructions such as cars and other vehicles, the surface is flat and smooth such as basketball courts, quiet roads, footpaths in parks, designated skating areas or car parks that allow skaters. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDOOR & OUTDOOR WHEELS?

Indoor wheels tend to be harder than outdoor wheels, if they are harder, it is not advised to wear these outside however, outdoors wheels can be worn indoors as they are much softer and allow easier movement over rougher surfaces. Read more on choosing wheels.
